About One Good Story Project

One Good Story Project (“OGSP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a story-first documentary platform (original films supported by a curated library of books, documentaries, podcasts, organizations, and changemakers). This website is where we share that work.

Using our website

You’re welcome to read, watch, share, and enjoy our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. When you use the site, you agree not to:

use it in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else’s rights;
copy, republish, sell, or redistribute our films, articles, or other content without our written permission (see “Our content” below);
try to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems behind it;
use automated tools to scrape or harvest our content or data, except where we clearly allow it (for example, our published sitemap and our /llms.txt file).

Our content

The films, articles, text, graphics, logos, and design on this site are owned by One Good Story Project or used with permission, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. “One Good Story Project” and our logo are our marks. You’re welcome to link to our pages and quote short excerpts with credit, but you may not reproduce or republish our content in full, or use it commercially, without our written permission. Reach out through our contact page to ask. We’re glad to hear from people who want to share our work.

Resources we link to

Beyond our own films, we point to books, documentaries, podcasts, organizations, and other resources on websites we don’t control. We share them because we think they’re worthwhile, but we don’t own them and aren’t responsible for their content, availability, or accuracy. Please review those sites’ own terms and policies when you visit them.

Affiliate links

Some links to books are Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, OGSP may earn a small commission from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Whether a resource is an affiliate link never affects whether we recommend it.

What you send us

When you use our contact form or suggest a story, you’re sharing information with us voluntarily. Please don’t send us anything confidential. We can’t treat what you submit as secret. By suggesting a story or resource, you give us permission to consider it, research it, and, if we choose, feature it (or a related resource) on the site. We’re never obligated to use a suggestion, to respond, or to credit you, and we don’t pay for suggestions. Please don’t submit anything that isn’t yours to share or that infringes someone else’s rights.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we’ll send you email updates. You can unsubscribe any time using the link in any email. How we handle your email address is described in our Privacy Policy.

Sponsorship and support

We invite people and organizations to support our work. A sponsorship inquiry made through the site simply starts a conversation. The specific terms of any sponsorship are agreed directly between you and OGSP. Nothing on the site is an offer or a guarantee of any particular sponsorship benefit unless we agree to it with you in writing.

The site is provided “as is”

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Our films and articles are for general information and storytelling. They are not professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. We don’t guarantee the site will always be available, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, One Good Story Project and the people who work on it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the site or the resources it links to. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Effective date” above, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

A note on age

Our site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
